Welcome to Creative Communion. YAY, for us! This has been a L O N G journey filled with possibilities, false starts, dedication, delays and lotsa sis-boom-bah from framily & fans!

To celebrate I wanted to share a poem that has been both a treasure and life-preserver through the years…

Like many people, The Journey, has profoundly influenced minds and hearts. For years I printed out and carried this poem around in my bag as a personal mantra and North Star during times of adversity and struggle. I loved Mary Oliver’s word-smithing so much that I dedicated an entire semester of my English Literature Honors Program to her life’s work.

Here I am, at a stage in my life at age fifty-five, launching a long postponed dream of creative living. I have immense gratitude for the people and experiences that have brought me gifts and lessons. After years of waiting and postponement, the time has finally arrived to do this. As usual, the resistance pushed back but because, non-conformity is my norm and don’t listen to the “mustn’ts” [thank YOU Shel Silverstein] is my battle call, another Journey beings . . .

“But little by little,

as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn

through the sheets of clouds,

and there was a new voice

which you slowly recognized as your own,

that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

determined to do

the only thing you could do–

determined to save

the only life you could save.”

If you are reading this, that means you too, have a story to tell as a rebel with a cause and a cheerleader for creativity. Thank you for joining my adventure and let the wild adventures begin!

Until soon,

xoxo
