I feel strongly that creativity can transform these forsaken photographs into reclaimed stories.
Ancestor art is a private pARTy with you + a few friends where your beloved photos + my art supplies merge to create a compelling one of a kind masterpiece.

12" X 12" Masterpiece
$65 per person / 4 - 4.5 hour workshop
Everything is provided!
Design one 12″ X 12″ X 1″ masterpiece using original vintage/decorative papers, inks, stencils, ephemera, found objects and an evocative ancestral photo to tell your family story. Your photo will be printed onto archival tissue.

Use encaustic medium as an endearing top coat
Feel free to bring misc. papers or flat backed 3D treasures + tokens to personalize your story. If you bring original vintage documents, please know, that the collage/encaustic process sometimes brings unexpected results with coloring and texture. If you’re not okay with embracing “happy accidents” or the natural imperfections of handmade design, please make copies of your original documents. You won’t regret listening to the ancestors and will leave with a completed masterpiece.
Email your one preferred photo at a resolution between 600-900 and email it to me at least one week prior to your art party.
No photo- no problem; adopt an ancestor from my extensive family of snapshots. Photos will be permanently altered w/ paints, inks, cutting and wax.

Design one 5″ X 7″ flat panel story board using original vintage/decorative papers, stamps, ephemera, StencilGirl Stencils, Seth Apter's Baked Textures, and an evocative ancestral photo to tell your family story. Your photo will be printed onto high quality paper for collage.
