HIGHLIGHTS

Join Kecia and Linda for our 3rd annual Snip, Sip + Sew retreat at St. Mary’s in charming Glendale, Ohio. 

Snip = cutting painted fabrics, layered swatches and handmade papers 

Sip = drinking your fave beverage of choice. Feel free to bring soda, wine, juices or smoothies. There is plenty of complimentary hot/iced tea, coffee, distilled H20 provided} 

Sew = this is collage on fabric – stitching fabric and paper together to create a be-you-tiful book. No sewing skills needed – just a working machine. 

We look forward to being inspired by Kecia + Linda as they share their personal style, tricks of the trade, and love of journaling. We’ll paint, stamp, stencil, silk screen and design fabrics using unconventional surface techniques leaving you with lots of evocative pages essentially creating mini “chapters” that you will layercollage and stitch into a larger dressed journal or two.

Evening: enjoy DIY printing in your pajamas, snacks in the fridge and make yourself at home. In fact, you can create any time you want up until mid Sunday when we stop wetwork. The main area of St. Mary’s is where you will be working the majority of the weekend. We will literally cover St. Mary’s with our art.

WHAT TO EXPECT

JUST BE YOU:  This is a judgment free, non-competitive, just have a darn good time experience. You are perfect just the way you are. 

COMFORT ZONE NUDGES: We’ll be doing/learning new things so you might feel unsure and uncomfortable. This is a natural part of the creative process.

DRESS 4 MESS: Bring an apron [or gloves if you’re worried about your hands] as we will be making a beautiful mess!

RIGIDITY + RANDOMNESS: Some parts of the event need rigidity like the cafeteria schedule [we gotta eat!] and staying on time for workshops {we gotta sew!] Other parts are random like a break out singalong or an invite for a quick outdoors walk.

POP UP SHOPPES: Bring some extra funds for the amazing art, screens, kits and miscellany that will be for sale. Kecia and Linda will be bringing their gorgeous handmade goods.  Mobile payments, cash and checks are permitted.

WHAT TO BRING

A kit fee and supplies is included in your ticket price. You will will be required to bring supplies to enhance your workshop experience and it is currently under construction and will be listed here after January, 1, 2018. 

Optional Items to bring:

Comfy clothes + walking shoes should you want to enjoy the accessible outdoor campus.

BYOB: sodas, wine, juices, etc. adult beverages permitted, glasses, wine openers on site

BYOS: They have little bags of complimentary snacks i.e. granola bars, chips, cookies, popcorn, etc, provided, if you like other types of snacking, please feel free to Bring Your Own Snacks. [Kitchen/Microwave/Refrigerator on Site] Our meals our absolutely delicious. You will be nourished. If you are attending and have dietary allergies, please contact us with your needs. 

MISC

We have St. Mary’s to ourselves from Friday, JULY 13 – MONDAY JULY 17, 2018. This is a creative immersion retreat with 3 nights lodging in a private room + en suite bathroom.

CANCELLATION + TICKET REFUND POLICY

It is understandable that “life happens” and unforeseen circumstances may prevent you from attending a ticketed event. In the case where you cannot participate, please notify me as soon as possible. Due to event/instructor’s financial commitments, reservation/s and contract obligations, full refunds for Paid in Full Tickets are only available up until 180 days prior to the ticketed event date.  If notification has been made up to or prior to JAN 14, 2018, full refunds will given and processed vial Paypal within 5 days of the date of the cancellation. If you are unable to attend an event and not eligible for a refund, and there is a waiting list, we will gladly put you in contact with the first person on the list to coordinate possible arrangements for the sale of your ticket. If a transaction is mutually agreed upon and completed, your spot in the event will be transferred to the other person.

If you are unable to attend and there is no waiting list, we will unfortunately be unable to provide refunds after JANUARY 14, 2018.

Save My Seat Deposit Ticket:  Your $99.00 deposit ticket holds your seat with final payment/s due by midnight on JANUARY 14, 2018. If payment is not received, unfortunately your position will be forfeited and your payment/s will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Shortly after purchasing your Save My Seat Ticket, you will receive a Paypal invoice with terms agreeing to final payment due on 01/14/18. Any eligible refunds will be given and processed via Paypal and/or check within 5 business days.

Notification of cancellations due to inclement weather, instructor cancellation or unpredictable circumstances will be made as soon as possible via text message, email and provided contact emergency information. Full refunds will given for Paid in Full and Save My Seat Deposits and processed vial Paypal and/or checks within 5 days of the date of the unexpected cancellations.
