PASS·PORT

A THING THAT ENSURES ADMISSION TO OR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF SOMETHING

Seth Apter’s new stamps have me feelin’ something ♥

He invited me to participate in the new release of his Eclectica³ stamps and Fresco Finish Paints and somehow I knew they could tell a special story.

I have an official document from 1965 that captures a photograph of both adversity and wonder . . . the ambiguous space between the two is where I’m usually Found.  I’m drawn to symbolic words with emotional impact.

Once I opened the stamp collection I knew that my creativity and emotional wellbeing were going to play well together. I used one of my most treasured photos to make a trifecta tribute for my Mother, siblings and beloved Grandmother.

My family’s Passport gave us legal standing as a Mother and her three children. We’re Classified; legally validated and free. But we were unified in secrecy and shame, bound as a single entity, yet emotionally astray.

Soon everything would change.  When you are left behind you have years of feeling Lost. You grow up too quickly when you have no one to keep you safe. Everyone yearns to be Found as you rise to the occasion to survive.

Resilience can be a side effect.  So can post traumatic growth.

Thank you Seth, Leandra, and Mark Franich {Yay! Paper Artsy} for the honor of participating in this year’s winger project for 2018 Association For Creative Industries Creativation trade show.

As a newbie wingie I was extremely nervous and made twelve samples and of course, gave them my Ancestor Art twist.

While in Phoenix at AFCI, I met the lovely Mark and Leandra Franich from Paper Artsy and throughly enjoyed their current designer innovative stamps and products. I promptly ordered some Grunge Paste after watching it up close and personal on a stencil. Getcha some!

Another experience validating mixed media art strengthening our ability to live in this beautiful complicated world.

Shout out for the creative spark within that is essential to our wellbeing. ♥

Until Soon,

xoxo
