It’s Sashay Saturday because it’s -4º

. . . and there’s a group of dedicated DIY sewing fans heading to Tracy McElfresh’s Insta Dress Mini Retreat at Cox Arboretum.

3 hours later and I am hooked on Tracy’s darling insta dress! It’s made out of one-piece-of-folded-fabric and I’m sewing in my socks. Really.

And, oh, my, the lovely black flowery Girl Charlee knit fabric I bought; it’s slinky, swirly and soft! Perfect for Tracy’s amazing pattern.

I created a second gray polka dotted frock when I got home and now am enjoying a growing “wish list” of knits to make more. A great feature about the pattern is adaptation. For example, I like a larger neckline and shorter sleeves are in the future for summer wear and layering. Shout out to Julie Hensley, who helped me schlep sewing machine + supplies across the winter wonderland with my {literal} frozen shoulder. Isn’t her pincushion teddy adorable? We were inspired by the art + style of Kecia Deveney.

Thank you Tracy for your dedication to inspiring and teaching the L O V E of sewing and handmade! ♥

Until soon,

xoxo Glenda
