It’s not mystical, it’s actually quite practical and the strategies I will share will help guide you to create a personal muse and shrine honoring your unique voice."

Our weekend together is more than a retreat, it’s creative immersion. From Friday afternoon to Monday morning, we are together making, playing, talking, connecting with each other and getting to know ourselves, others AND our muses.

This is a “must-do” or “should-be” free zone – so you can use all the art materials + techniques to create your muse your way. Your muse can be a doll, butterfly, moon, fairy, moppet, star or whatever speaks to you.

We are taking over the entire building AUG 23-26, 2019, so we can paint and play to our hearts desire. ♥

Fri, Sat and Sun night lodging - ALL meals, snacks, beverages, up close and personal workshop experience with Carolyn AND cozy creative immersion nestled in natural private campus of Transfiguration Spirituality Center.

What will the play be this weekend?

You’ll be sculpting a meaningful symbol of your personal muse and then handcrafting a special shrine of honor.

The “why” and “when” of layering techniques will be shared so you can apply it to any of your mixed media play.

What to bring

Just bring your itty bitty supply kit:

6-8 colors of acrylic paint you love plus white paint and black
sharpie marker
craft knife + cutting mat
gel medium
6-8 paint brushes in a variety of sizes
scissors
double sided tape
needle nosed pliers + wire cutter
apron

That’s it. No kidding!

All other speciality supplies needed for this workshop are being generously provided by Carolyn!

Also consider bringing:

Comfy clothes, walking shoes, and a hair dryer.
BYOBeverages: adult beverages permitted, glasses, wine openers on site. Bring a drinking vessel for distilled H20, lemonade, iced tea, ice, coffee, hot tea, etc.
BYOSoda: no soda on site, you’ll need to bring your own to store in the two kitchen fridges.
BYOSnacks: You won’t go hungry — but feel free to bring your fave munchies. [Kitchen/Microwave/Refrigerator on Site]

The heart of the matter is creative immersion. Process vs Product. Experience vs Event. Deep Dive vs. Surface Skimming.

What does all this mean? You are considered a valued guest; one who is interested in expanding and strengthening talents, skills and interests with others. By making and creating you get to express feelings and explore new ways of being. In a collaborative circle of belonging, the artist instructor is also giving their expertise, inspiration and guidance. All of this is happening in a secluded nurturing environment where we can all learn, share and enrich the other.

JUST BE YOU: This is a judgment free, non-competitive, just have a darn good time experience. You are perfect just the way you are.
COMFORT ZONE NUDGES: Allow yourself to expand your craft and welcome the beauty of imperfection.
DRESS 4 MESS: Bring an apron [or gloves if you’re worried about your hands] because we'll be making beautiful messes!

ticket policy

It is understandable that “life happens” and unforeseen circumstances may prevent you from attending a ticketed event. In the case where you cannot participate, please notify me as soon as possible. Due to event/instructor’s financial commitments, reservation/s and contract obligations, full refunds are available up until FEB 23, 2018. If you purchase a ticket after this date, please know you are buying a non-refundable ticket.

What if you can't come after you have purchased your ticket?

If there is a waiting list, I will put you in contact with the first person on the list to coordinate possible arrangements for the sale of your ticket. If a transaction is mutually agreed upon and completed, your spot in the event will be transferred to the other person.

In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, instructor cancellation or unpredictable circumstances notification will be made as soon as possible via text message, email and provided contact emergency information. Refunds will be given within 5 days of the date of the unexpected cancellations.
