Creative Circle Theme:

Craftivism

Saturday, August 8, 2026

10:30 am - 1:30 pm

3 hours of crafting & connection!

$39 Standard Ticket

$49 Generous Ticket (info below)

Make 1-3 fabric banners of words/phrases of affirmation and/or social commentary. An ideal gathering for makers who want to create visual art celebrating diversity, protecting civil rights and collective community activism.

This is a no-sew project using ordinary items to create large fabric banners from easily sourced upholstery panels, pillow cases and fabric remnants.

Letters will be stenciled/hand drawn onto fabric and then ironed onto banners to create meaningful affirmations.

They can be embellished at home w/ hand stitching, more applique or adding tabs for hanging.

We’ll be choosing our own words/phrases, selecting contrasting/complimentary textiles, measuring, drawing, cutting and ironing onto medium sized fabrics.

This is craftivism - we're making visually striking fabric affirmations, portable protest banners, door signs or a personal heart-felt call to action.

Beginners-Intermediate-Advanced makers welcome!

Co-creating for a cause is a timeless form of resistance against systemic oppression and democratic injustice. And it’s a darn good way to use our hands and hearts versus social media doom-scrolling.
